Devlin participated in the end of the year piano recital yesterday. He has made a lot of progress since the recital last year. He was still very nervous, but so proud of himself when he was done. Of course, we spoiled him with a trip to the store after for a new toy. Then we had a celebratory dinner with burgers and milkshakes.

Devlin's 8th birthday!!!
Devlin started his birthday celebration at the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Festival in Plant City.
At the festival, kids aged 8 and up can take a ride in one of the planes. Devlin surprised us and wanted to sign up. After a very long wait, it was his turn.
Getting some instructions from the pilot.
He's ready to go!
Take off.
Taxiing back.
The flight was about 20 minutes long and though he was a bit nervous he loved it. The pilot said he talked the entire flight.
The following weekend, Devlin hosted an epic laser gun battle at our house.
Devlin is not a big fan of cake, so we had ice cream sundaes.
We also had a silly string battle.
PRESENTS!!!
Pugs are everything.
Devlin and his besties, Drew and Jack.
The morning after the party, the kids played with Devlin's new games and toys.

Weekend shenanigans
We have been having some fun the past two weekends celebrating Devlin's birthday. Though his birthday is not until the end of February, we started his birthday celebrations early.
The first weekend we went to Disney with the usual crew. The kids had a blast playing Star Wars with their light sabers. They even filmed a video for You Tube, Think we need to do some editing before we post it.
The next weekend, we went to LEGOLAND. This time we stayed at the main hotel. There may or may not have been a Caddy Shack moment in the pool (not my kids), but otherwise the weekend was a blast. The kids loved the play area and we liked that we could watch the them play while enjoying an adult beverage.

Christmas 2017 - Flashback
I never got around to putting up the Christmas pictures, so here is a flashback from the holidays.
We actually let the kids help decorate the tree this year. I think they did a pretty good job.
Derpy the elf
The kids loved riding the carousel while waiting to see Santa.
Looking at the neighborhood Christmas lights. These houses were featured on The Great Christmas Light Fight.
Before the chaos of Christmas morning.
It was hard to get a good picture. They were so excited and could not sit still.
Then we went to Lakeland to destroy Mom-mom and Pop-pop's house.
