Do The Green Bean Dance!

New walker

Devlin got a new walker for Christmas and likes it very much. He's still learning how to use it as you can see from the fender bender with the old walker. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Dancing Peanut

I've been trying for the last few days to get video of Devlin dancing to his Christmas dog. Finally this morning I got it. He has such sweet moves that we just had to share them with the world.

Vero Beach

Bryan and I celebrated out 4 year anniversary by taking a trip to Vero Beach. It was our first family vacation and it was nice to just relax and hang out with Devlin. We had a 1 bedroom condo on the beach, but next time we will have to get 2 bedrooms. We tried to share a room Devlin, but gave up after 2 nights. We let him have the bedroom with the king size bed (though he slept in a pack n' play) and Bryan and I slept on the pullout sofa. Since the condo was not baby-proof, Bryan made a baby corral using the furniture and our cooler.

On Saturday we spent the day at Cape Canaveral.

We took Devlin to the beach, so he could see the Atlantic Ocean and waves.

Halloween

It has been decided that Devlin was going to be a penguin for Halloween, but Devlin had made other plans. We had friends in town for the weekend and with all the excitement Devlin decided to forgo his second nap. When the trick-or-treaters started arriving at 6, we had a little, cranky Peanut. There was no way Devlin was going to let us put him in his costume, so we decided it would be best to get him ready for bed. Luckily, Mom-Mom Lipman had purchased Devlin a pair of skeleton pjs that were perfect for the occasion.

Devlin did go outside for a while and hand out candy.

He also ate a few pieces and just like his father he likes the peanut butter cups best.

A few steps closer to walking

Today Devlin figured out how to use his lion walker toy thing. He really loves the music and sounds it makes.

Skeletor!!!!

Devlin is getting ready for Halloween. We're not sure how the green bowl fits in, but it just works and he doesn't mind wearing it.

Cruising

Devlin is starting to take his first steps. He will stand up and cruise along the couch or ottoman. He also loves his grandad's chair, which is actually his great, great grandmother's chair.

EPCOT - Food and Wine Festival - 2010

Last week, we all went to the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT. Devlin got to ride around in the double stroller with his cousin Lex.

Bryan and I ate lots of food and Devlin had a taste of almost everything. When he got cranky, I carried him and he quickly fell asleep. Unfortunately, that meant he missed the Chinese and South Korean food.

Devlin did wake up to partake in some Japanese food and pose for some pictures.

After all the food, Devlin needed to take a walk.

Decision 2010 - Results

The polls have closed and the penguin costume has defeated the lion. Bryan and I now have to decide what we will wear. We are throwing around the idea of being icebergs or seals.

Rare, red-spotted Peanut

Devlin was not feeling very well last week. We took him to the pediatrician when his temperature reached 102. The doctor tentatively diagnosed him with roseola. This diagnosis was confirmed Friday afternoon when the red spots made their appearance.

Family Photo

This is our first family photo! The pictures was taken July 24. It took us 5 months to get a family photo and another 2 months for me to post it.

The Land of Pleasant Living, 'hon (Part II)

I am finally getting back to posting about our trip to Maryland. Devlin met a lot of new people while in MD.

My Mom brought Devlin to my office, so I could show Devlin off to my coworkers. My friend, Carin also stopped by the office that day, so Devlin could meet the triplets. The triplets were born a week before Devlin.

Devlin also made the trip over to Tilghman Island with Bryan to meet his Great Grandmother (Bryan posted a picture in a previous post). On our last full day in MD, we headed to Southern MD to see Grandma and Grandad.

It was a whirlwind of a trip, but it was great to see our family and friends.

Crawling

Devlin has started crawling and that has left us with mixed emotions. We're happy he is making progress and gaining some independence, but we really need to baby proof the house and keep an eye on him. The other day he crawled over to the book shelf and grabbed a box of papers. It was on the bottom shelf, so there was no danger of anything falling on him.

Here he is in the crawling position, but he does not get anywhere.

This one shows him going after the camera. You can pretty much tell he is totally lacking style. We'll have to work on his form.

The Land of Pleasant Living, 'hon

In July, I had to go Maryland for business meetings. I decided to go back for two weeks and take Devlin with me. I was very nervous about flying alone with a baby, but Devlin was an excellent travel companion. The plane was full, so I had to hold Devlin on my lap. Luckily, he ate and was asleep before we took off and remained asleep the majority of the flight. When we exited the plane, other passengers remarked that they had not realized there was a baby on the plane. Needless, to say I was VERY proud.

Devlin spent his days hanging out with his Mom-mom. He spent his days playing with lots of new toys. Mom-mom also put Devlin on a napping schedule which he continues to follow.

A few days after our arrival, Uncle Chris, Aunt Staci, and Lex arrived in MD. Everyone was in town for one last hurrah at the Lipman residence. Mom-mom and Pop-pop sold the house, so they could move to Florida to be close to the grandkids. The first weekend in MD was crazy as relatives and friends from NJ and PA came to visit.

The first week in MD was a blast, but even more fun and visitors are to come...

Devlin is bummed...

Today was the last day for Devlin's nanny, Alexis. Alexis is heading back to Orlando for her senior year at UCF. Devlin greatly enjoyed his time with Alexis this summer and he only pooped on her once. Hopefully, when Alexis comes back to visit family she will come visit (or maybe babysit, so we can have a night out). Alexis has been wonderful and we wish her all the best.

Devlin and Ma Noni

Devlin got to meet his Great Grandmother Noni, uncle Kevin, and his cousins Nick and Alex. He had a lot of fun spending time with them and showing off his crawling skills. I know he can't wait to go back to Tilghman Island!

First Food

Devlin had his four month check-up today. He weighed in at 14.1 pounds and is 24.5 inches long. The pediatrician was very happy with his progress. We were told that we could start Devlin on solid foods; cereal, fruits, and veggies. We started him tonight with some cereal. We have been adding cereal to Devlin's bottles since he was 2 months old to help with his spitting up (read projectile vomiting). We knew that he would tolerate the cereal well, we just had to see if he would eat it off a spoon. There is a slideshow on the right.

World Cup Heartbreak

Devlin was devastated by the loss today to Ghana, looks like he tried to drown his sorrow.
