Twins!!!

Colette Elizabeth and Griffin Jacob were born November 8, 2012 at 2:48 and 2:49 pm, respectively. Colette weighed 5 pounds 6 ounces and was about 18 inches long. Griffin weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces and was 18.75 inches long. The babies were born at 35 weeks and 6 days. Colette spent 5 days in the NICU. She had fluid in her lungs, was a lazy eater, and had a few instances of brachycardia (slow heart rate). Griffin spent 9 days in NICU. He had a pneumothorax, or collapsed lung, and few instances of apnea.

Together again!

The good news is the twins are thriving. At their 4 month Wellness visit, Colette was 12 pounds 7 ounces and 24.5 inches and Griffin was 15 pounds 9 ounces and 25 inches. It is hard to believe, but the twins will be 20 weeks old tomorrow. We are working on a nap schedule, but they are basically sleeping through the night. Colette usually still wants one feeding around 3 or 4 am, but then she will sleep until 8. Griffin sleeps through the night and usually wakes at 7. We just started them on solid food this week. Colette is not sure she is ready, but Griffin loves it, which is not surprising. Griffin is going to be a big boy. They are both happy babies, but Griffin is definitely more needy. Colette rarely cries and can entertain herself. Griffin likes to be held all the time, which is fun since he, like Devlin, spits up.

Speaking of Devlin, he loves his brother and sister and has been a great helper.
