Lowry Park Zoo

Our friends invited us to go to the zoo a few weekends back. As you can see, Devlin was very excited.

Matt and Devlin thought it would be cute to wear the same outfit.

Molly thought some shades would really make the outfit.

Lowry Park Zoo was really nice and we saw lots of animals.

Devlin was pretty impressed with the manatees.

Devlin was falling asleep by the end of the day.

We made one last stop to see the monkeys again before leaving the zoo. The monkeys put on quite a show.

Birthday Party - Part 2

We had a small party for Devlin's first birthday. We invited family and a few friends over for a bbq and some swimming. Yes, Devlin's birthday is in February and it was warm enough to swim!

Devlin was excited to see his cousin Lex.

Since Devlin loves ducks, we went with a duck theme.

There is a slide show, on the right, of Devlin eating his cupcake. He liked the icing, but was not a huge fan of the cake.

Lex offered to help Devlin open his gifts while baby Jack watched.

By the end of the day, we had a very sleepy boy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE CRANKY PEANUT!

Birthday party - Part 1

We brought Devlin back to Maryland at the beginning of February for an early birthday celebration.

We were up at 4 am Friday morning, so we could catch the first flight to Baltimore. Once we arrived we got our rental car and headed to the Eastern Shore to visit Devlin's great grandmother. Devlin first met Ma Noni in July when he was five months old.

Devlin had a great time rocking with Ma Noni and listening to her stories.

After we left Tilghman Island we stopped in Stevensville to visit our friends Kelly and Mike and their newborn Julia. We wish had more time to spend with them, but the schedule was very tight and we had to drive down to Southern MD. Still it was great catching up with them and meeting Julia.

We then made our way down to Hollywood to see Grandad and Grammy. Grammy had planned a birthday extravaganza for Devlin on Saturday. It started with Devlin opening a few of his gifts.

Later Devlin had his first taste of cake.

Of course, Devlin ended up wearing most of the cake. Alex, Devlin's oldest cousin, helped clean Devlin up and get him into a clean outfit.

After all the excitement, Devlin decided to just chill with his Aunt Amy.

As usual, our tip was too short. Sunday we were up early to head back to the airport. Devlin had a great time with his family in Maryland and is eagerly awaiting his next trip back north.

Toga Party!

Mom-Mom and Pop Young sent Devlin clothes for his birthday, unfortunately the only thing he fit in was the shipping paper. They are resending larger sizes soon though.

Lift off!!

Devlin spent his first birthday watching the shuttle launch. Our friends invited us to view the shuttle launch from Kennedy Space Center. They had a special parking pass, that allowed us to get very close, I think we were about 5 miles away from the shuttle. We arrived at the Space Center around 1 and we spent the afternoon lounging around waiting for the launch.

All this waiting is making me sleepy

The shuttle is over there
